One of the approaches designers use to enlarge a space is to remove all the walls that can be removed. In this case, by removing the walls, the designer creates a spacious living room with a dining room. While it looks narrow, due to the width, it is still spacious and big.
The walls that are left out serve two purposes. The first one is to at least visually separate one from another room. The second, and more important purpose is to serve as storage, TV feature wall or anything similar.
There is no blank wall between the rooms, and that is exactly the goal of the designer, to take full advantage of the potential.
Last, but not least, the designer uses texture to add character to the apartment. In a true Scandinavian and modern spirit, the colors are as bright as possible, with different shades of white used.
But with so much white and bright colors, the risk is the space can look dull. This is where different texture comes in handy.
