From the moment you enter the apartment, you notice that it is not your regular Scandinavian style home. The difference is that most Scandinavian designed homes are done in minimalistic approach, with spacious rooms.
In this case, however, the designer has to work with less space, but he uses the full potential. Starting from the living room, to add a Scandinavian accent, the designer uses timber frames as the basic for the sofas. Placing one of the sofas next to the window creates a relaxing and calming atmosphere in the area.
One theme that spans through the whole interior is the use of wall effects. Both in the living area, and in the bedroom, the designer installs brick like texture to add depth and make the room more interesting.
In the dining room, we see an unconventional choice for the dining table. MDF high gloss material is rarely used as the top for a dining table, since it requires a lot of maintenance. In this case, the designer uses the material despite everything, to add smooth, glossy touch to the room.
In the kitchen, however, where modern designs usually command the use of MDF high gloss material, the designer goes for a different approach. While the upper kitchen elements feature the material for the finishing, the lower elements are done in a timber finishing for a nice rugged contrast to the smoothness of the MDF high gloss.
