Mixing old with new is something that designers use for years not only in the interior design, but also in fashion. Old and new are a good match every time, as long as they work together and complement each other.
In this case, the rustic elements perfectly complement the modern background, to the point they are blended in one, and you can hardly notice them.
But let’s start from the beginning, which is the living area. The goal here, as with other rooms is to create comfortable and cozy ambience. The TV feature wall continues on the ceiling and to the opposite wall, creating a frame, a room within the room if you like.
And the opposite walls are more than just opposite walls, as their materials are also opposite: marble versus brick.
An interesting choice in the living area is to place the cabinet and shelves opposite the TV. The finishing of the cabinet is a bit rustic, enriched with old and rustic lamps.
The bedroom is probably the best example of mixing and matching old with new. The bricks look as old as possible, but the timber is new, shiny and elegant. And to top it off, the designer places an old retro lamp on the nightstand.
